My stomach has gone crazy with minutes to go before ET!

Published December 11, 2013 by ivfdream

I woke up this morning after having a very hot sleep in the hotel we are sleeping in. I have a cold which did not improve with a hot flight and my ears popping painfully on the flight, poor me.
My DH gave me my clexane injection, I had forgotten to put wipes in to clean the skin but had done it before so assumed it would be fine. The injection hurt for the first time ever but said nothing S didn’t want to scare my DH off as he really dreads doing them. It started to bleed and bruised up straight away and hurt for a while. We went for a walk after breakfast and then had a hot drink before the taxi picked us up to take us to the clinic. It was only a ten minutes drive and I was contemplating that I could be pregnant within an hour. Crazy.
When I arrived we checked in, I needed my relaxant so I was told to wait and the doctor would be with us. I felt my stomach start to hurt and when I lifted up my jumper and jeans, the site of the injection was severely swollen, like a protruding bone or a hernia sticking out…it was badly bruised too. I freaked out and told the nurses. They started speaking about abscesses and then burst blood vessels and then concluded that everything was fine and the doctor would deal with it.
I thought I was going to faint. I started to get upset and a bit teary. My body is in a mess. I’m proud of my normally not bloated stomach and now, it just looked destroyed with needles and big bumps and lumps.
I lay back flat on my seat and tried to relax. A nurse has just brought me my relaxant and my swelling has gone down a bit. How strange.
Anyone get these swells or bumps from clexane or other injections? The things we have to do..
I’ll post after ET. Can’t wait to hear about my embryo quality, growth etc. I haven’t heard anything from the clinic so presuming they made it or some of them made it to day five today!
